Awards and Certifications

2014 – Exceptional Service Award

Communications Operator Tina Lee received the RRRDC Exceptional Service Award for her role in sending help to a call.  The 911 caller was not able to speak freely as a male with a weapon was near her.  Tina was able to determine that help was needed using patience, a compassionate off-script approach, and yes or no questions to send help to the caller.

2014 – Certificate of Appreciation from Essentia Health

The Red River Regional Dispatch Center was awarded a certificate of appreciation from Essentia Health for “Outstanding Medical Care in the Pre-Hospital Environment”.  This award recognizes and celebrates the hard work of the dispatchers as the region’s “first” first responders and as EMS providers in keeping the community healthy.

2013 – APCO International P33 Certification

The Red River Regional Dispatch Center was awarded APCO’s P33 Certification for having met or exceeded the minimum training standards for the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officers (APCO) International Project 33 Training Certification-2010.

2012 – Exceptional Service Award

Communications Operator Crystal Boyd received the RRRDC Exception Service Award for her role in calling for a personnel accountability report (PAR) during an ongoing fire after discerning inaudible radio transmissions.  One unaccounted firefighter had become disoriented and was located by fellow fire fighters possible saving his life.

2008 – 2009 Local Government Innovation Award

The Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, which is associated with the University of Minnesota, awarded the RRRDC with the 2008-2009 Local Government Innovation Award for outstanding Public/Nonprofit/Private Collaboration in establishing the Red River Regional Dispatch Center for a bi-state metropolitan area.

 

2008 Jerry Decker Award

The RRRDC received the Jerry Decker award in 2008 from the Cass County First Responders .  This award is award is in recognition of the RRRDC’s contributions to community service and a commitment to high quality professionalism.
